This operating procedure covers the waste issues on all Scalo’s premises.
The aim of this regulation is to avoid risk to health and safety as well as incidence of littering; and waste to landfill and associated CO2e emissions and to ensure Scalo’s premises are aesthetically pleasing and the waste is disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner.
It is the responsibility of the individual user to sort and dispose of waste in a thoughtful manner. Separate bins for general waste, plastics, paper, and glass are located throughout the premises as well as inside the buildings.
Scalo employees receive environmental training on a regular basis. They are constantly provided with information, tidbits and good practice concerning environmental issues.
Scalo also strives to conserve water — for example, by keeping washing with running water to a minimum and using dishwashers instead. Additionally, our offices have a built-in filter for drinkable tap water.
Scalo provides potted plants in the office space. They clean and moisten the air and have a positive impact on the productivity and well-being of our employees. In addition, each Scalo employee grows a black pine tree — a plant that produces large amounts of oxygen. As soon as the trees reach the appropriate size, they will be transplanted into the ground, for the sake of cleaning the air.
Each office is constantly supplied with eco-friendly office supplies, such as copy paper, notebooks, and writing instruments. Additionally, Scalo makes sure that company gadgets for employees (black pine seeds, organic cotton t-shirts and bags, and reusable mugs and vacuum bottles) affect the environment as little as possible.
