Project
To expand to California, the client needed to ensure their devices comply with CSIP standards by implementing the IEEE 2030.5 protocol. They aimed to modernize their device software for real-time data exchange with grid aggregators and support up to 15 state-driven energy programs.
We designed an event-driven microservice architecture on AWS and developed a middleware solution to map and translate events between inverters and aggregators for bidirectional energy flow. Our team also worked on refactoring the application for scalability, integrating monitoring tools, and improving system performance.
The system tracks and manages energy transfers in real time, prevents grid overload, and supports demand response. We also developed a new installer interface to simplify device configuration. Data transmission is protected with TLS 1.3.
